More About Me

This is a story... The story of the boy you lost to cocaine, the story of an artist, the story of a wannabe, the story of the boy who can't stop smoking, the story of someone who doesn't care when he cares and cares when he doesn't. This is a story. This is my story. So,

"SCHIZOPHONIC" | GERI HALLIWELL (1999)

I dragged my father with me towards the nearest and only music store in my town the day it was released to get that cassette, after coming back from school. It was my fave Spice debut album and I couldn’t wait to get a copy. I even remember well that day: it was cloudy, I remember how the music shelves were organized back then and remeber just getting home and pushing Play on my Hi-Fi system. I guess that only crucial moments in your life make you recall so well things after 14 years and that’s why I’m so fond of this album. And, as yet, the album didn’t disappoint me at all, because it kinda remind me from the beginning to the end to “Spice”. It started with the debut and uptempo tune “Look at Me”, the third track was a big ballad (“Walkaway” - “2 Become 1”) and the tenth track was like Geri’s own “If U Can’t Dance” (“You’re in a Bubble”), and the record includes some of my favourite tunes ever. As a pop album, I find it really good and the best of all of the other spices solo albums, because it is the only one that doesn’t lack of spice. The only thing that upsets me is that “Summertime”, a b-side, never made it to the final tracklist and I discovered this song too late in my life.

Tracklist:

  1. Look at Me
  2. Lift Me Up
  3. Walkaway
  4. Mi Chico Latino
  5. Good Night Kiss
  6. Bag It Up
  7. Sometime
  8. Let Me Love You
  9. Someone’s Watching over Me
  10. You’re in a Bubble
