More About Me

This is a story... The story of the boy you lost to cocaine, the story of an artist, the story of a wannabe, the story of the boy who can't stop smoking, the story of someone who doesn't care when he cares and cares when he doesn't. This is a story. This is my story. So,

The Boy You Lost to Cocaine Is Back [Part I]

I just got home. It’s 2:15 a.m. and it’s Friday night. I’m totally not drunk. And tired, and bored and feeling sleepy but it’ll take me a long while to get asleep, ‘cause I can smell how everything is getting messy. I only have a month and a half to accomplish a very laaaaaaaaarge list of things to do before September. And I’m starting drowning in the lack of time. Time is fading amongst my fingers and I just need a break, and a break is the last fucking thing to do.

Have you ever confused a dream with life? Or stolen something when you have the cash? Have you ever been blue? Or thought your train moving while sitting still? Maybe I was just crazy. Maybe it was the 60’s. Or maybe I was just a girl… interrupted.

Susanna Kaysen. “Girl, Interrupted”.

This is my last song.

Before writing “Miss Nicotine”, I had suffered from a long stint in which no idea came to my mind, almost three years. Suddenly, about three or four months ago, while heading to the university, this miss Nicotine thing came up while thinking aboput an old love and started writing the lyrics in my mobile. So this is the rebirth of my creativity.

Basically, it’s just some loops here, some loops there, blablabla. The idea for the music was a retro sound, inspired by Donovan’s “Season of the Witch”: distorted guitars that recalled Woodstock; and a harmonica solo somewhere in the song. After bouncing the demo, I’m still not sure whether to keep it where it is or move it before the bridge or at the beginning of the final chorus. But at the moment I like it how it is. What I’m less convinced about is the vocals. I recorded 5 takes and I still feel that this song is lacking something (obviously background vocals, choruses) more than what is shown in this demo. Maybe after being mixed, mastered, background voices recorded I get a different opinion.

Just wanted to upload it in hope of someone gives me his/her opinion about the song before heading to the final job.

Hope somebody enjoys it.

Loony ideas and overloaded brainlessness.

Some just try to make it trough the day. Some just try to make it through. Some just seem so damn comfortable in their own skins, it’s hard to believe they’re just trying to make it through the day or simply make it through. And some just make it through with a real happy grin. How come I don’t know yet where’s my place?

I guess it’s easier to fumigate those negative thoughts with nicotine while drowning them in coffein. At this point thoughts get more simple, more stupid, even the positive ones. They lose their worth. Suddenly I don’t care about anything and that makes me wonder what’s wrong with me. Immediately the vicious circle begins again, and again, and again. There’s no answer at all.

And I suppose it’s because I don’t know how I feel or what to feel. I simply don’t feel anything but life passing by in front of my eyes. Has being shameless made me a better person? Has the pain made me stronger or weaker? Does sex really matter in a world where everyone is so damn fucked up? Does love really matter in a world where everyone hate everyone? Why the fuck something so simple as living is so damn hard, and something so complex as breathing feels so easy? Am I on the borderline?

But I always see the light in the deepest dark, so how come I’m allowing this deep dark weigh much more than the dimmest light?

Maybe it’s pure boredom. Maybe it’s too much free time. Maybe it’s just that I’m not trying as hard as I must to get those craved goals, and I know I’m not. Perhaps it’s just that I’m stupid. Maybe I’m only justifying being like this while being happy when the world’s completely gone crazy. Maybe… it’s just life

Kids Are Given Game Boys, Feel Instant Sadness
Ah, Game Boys. Forget your 3DS and your iPad mini: there was a day when these handheld hunks of 8-bit glory owned the playground. But these kids don’t remember it so watch the full hilarious video of their reactions to the original Game Boy here.

I watched this the other day and it made me feel so old, but I laughed at the kids because they had trouble just turning it on.
